Summary:
Responsible for building and delivering food trays to patients, processing meal requests, and managing diet orders through the computer system.
Provides prompt and accurate service to customers using point-of-service operations.
Interacts with patients, employees, medical staff, and customers in person and over the phone.
Education/
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.

years of experience in food service, preferred.
Certifications and Licensures:
None Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read and follow instructions.
General knowledge of cleaning methods, food service equipment, and food preparation.
Performs moderately heavy physical labor.
Adheres to safety and sanitation standards.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Basic math/cash handling skills.
Basic computer skills.
Job Specific Duties:
Assists with food preparation, including cold food production, baking, and grill relief.
Transports items between storeroom, kitchen, retail, and cooking equipment.
Prepares trays for patients and retail customers based on meal tickets.
Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, utensils, work areas, and dish room.
Delivers and returns trays, maintaining separation of clean and dirty.
Enters patient diet orders and meal/snack orders into the computer system.
Organizes and delivers nourishment supplies to units as ordered.
Operates cash register, accepts customer payments, and balances receipts.
Resolves concerns and complaints from customers or refers to the supervisor.
Upholds a professional working relationship, practices teamwork, and adheres to Standards of Behavior.
Workplace Requirements:
Physical requirements include frequent stooping, walking, kneeling, talking, pushing, pulling, lifting, constant standing, grasping, feeling, repetitive motion, and reaching.
Medium physical force is required (exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally).
Visual acuity is required.
Ability to speak and hear is required to effectively communicate.
Successful completion of a pre-employment demands test.
