Assistant Professor, Physics

The Department of Physics at High Point University invites applications for a full-time position in Physics at the Assistant Professor rank with a start date in August 2024.
This position is a 9-month, non-tenure track position eligible for promotion to Associate and Professor ranks and multi-year contract extensions.
Teaching responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate physics courses at all levels, with an opportunity to develop interdisciplinary honors and general education courses for non-science majors.
The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain an active research program involving undergraduate students, collaborate with faculty on curriculum and program development, and contribute to the Department and wider University through service responsibilities.

Successful applicants will have access to startup and institutional research and professional development funding, and laboratory and office space in the recently completed $65M Wanek School of Natural Sciences.
A Ph.
D.
in physics or closely related field is required by the time of appointment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
