ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage inventory levels including ordering accurate quantities, determining proper lead times, tracking storage availability.
Purchase parts, materials and supplies using the (MRP) and Kanban system.
Place Purchase Orders needed to ensure fulfillment of material requirements (Production, Pre-Production, and Service Parts).
Assure suppliers are on schedule, and expedite as required.
Coordinate with incoming logistics to facilitate timely deliveries utilizing planned transportation modes.
Work with quality department to handle rejected materials, solving supplier quality issues, processing defective parts, and improving overall supplier performance.
Support Planning and Production in all operational aspects of assigned machine models, delivery schedules, performance measurement, and inventory management.
Run MRP action reports, prioritize supply requirements, adjusting for ECNs and schedule changes, supplier and plant capacities, and manufacturing efficiencies, so as to maintain a current schedule, low cost, timely delivery and adequate inventory levels.
Assist in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies to ensure the accuracy of the Materials Requirement Plan.
Prepare and enter purchase orders into the SAP system.
Document and communicate purchase orders or purchase order changes to suppliers.
Follow up with Suppliers to get committed delivery dates and make sure that they review deliverables against key dates that, if missed, will be communicated to stakeholders.
Be aware and communicate significant supplier situations that may impact objectives and supply.
Follow up, track and expedite goods and service purchases.
Resolve any discrepancies with quantity, delivery, cost and quality.
Support Planning and Production Operations in procuring materials.
Manage inventory levels for raw materials and components working with Planning, Production and Sales to set and maintain safety stocks and lead times.
Manager supplier base.
Plan and prioritize deliveries.
Coordinate with Operations to expedite as required to support Production.
Inform management of significant supplier issues and supply markets.
Generate purchase orders.
Participate in company initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Communicate quality issues to suppliers and coordinate resolutions of the issues with suppliers.
Update POS as changes occur.
Strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with all levels of management, team members, and suppliers.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work within a team and independently.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepare special reports, as needed.
Maintain files and records REPORTING RELATIONSHIP Production Control Supervisor KNOWLEDGE Minimum 2 years purchasing experience.
SKILLS Computer knowledge (MS Excel proficiency.
MS Word.
) Good communication skills (verbal and written), detailed-oriented.
Knowledge of MRP, Kanban.
ISO and SAP experience a plus.
